M80 stun NAVI with 2-1 comeback at BLAST Open Porto

M80 pulled off one of the early upsets of BLAST Open Porto 2026 by defeating Natus Vincere 2-1 in their opening series.

The North American side recovered from a dominant loss on Anubis to claim Mirage and Inferno, handing NAVI another setback following their disappointing Esports World Cup campaign.

NAVI opened the series in dominant fashion on Anubis, controlling the pace of the map on the T-side before closing it 13-4.

M80 responded immediately on Mirage.

Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich played a major role in the comeback, helping his team establish a strong CT side before M80 secured a 13-6 victory to force a decider.

The deciding map again ended 13-6 in M80 's favor.

slaxz- delivered a crucial quad-kill toward the end of M80 's defensive half before Josh "JBa" Barutt helped complete a flawless T-side performance.

JBa produced a 1v3 clutch to put M80 on match point, effectively sealing the upset.

First top-10 victory since March

The result represents M80 's first victory over a top-10 opponent since March 31.

The team entered BLAST Open Porto after early exits at both BLAST Bounty and the Esports World Cup had pushed them outside the top 30.

For NAVI, the defeat continues a difficult start to the second half of the season. The team had already finished 9th-16th at the Esports World Cup following a heavy loss to Legacy.

Natus Vincere must now navigate the Group A lower bracket to keep their hopes of reaching the BLAST Open Porto playoffs alive.
