Falcons , Spirit , Vitality , and Legacy won their opening playoff matches at the Esports World Cup 2026 and will face each other on August 21 for spots in the semifinals. All matches will be played in a best-of-three format.
Falcons vs. The MongolZ
Falcons comfortably defeated The MongolZ . The match ended 2:0 (Inferno 13:3, Dust2 13:9), with none of the Mongolian team’s players recording a positive K/D ratio. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin delivered the best performance for Falcons , securing 44 kills while dying only 22 times. He recorded an adr of 120 and an overall rating of 8.5.
In the concurrent match, as you may have gathered from the previous text, Spirit also defeated B8 2:0 (Dust2 13:9, Mirage 13:9). The team will face a tougher challenge in its next match, with Vitality awaiting as its opponent. Spirit ’s superstar did not disappoint, as Danil “donk” Kryshkovets was named the best player of the match after recording 45 kills and 25 deaths. He posted an adr of 114.
The fourth match of the day was between Legacy and NAVI, with the Brazilian team eliminating NAVI and securing a place in the quarterfinals. We covered the match in greater detail in a separate article.
The Counter-Strike 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 runs from August 12 to 23. Thirty-two teams are competing for a total prize pool of $2 million.
