What is known about the situation
A few days ago, it became known that Fissure was closing its large esports office in Belgrade due to a possible financial crisis. After that, the situation with future events remained in question.
Today, PGL CEO Silviu Stroie announced on his official social media that two of the three major Fissure events in 2026 will most likely be canceled. The reason is that the maintenance company did not announce the details of the tournaments and other details that needed to be specified in time. The same applies to the tournament operator Starladder, which most likely will not hold any of the previously announced tournaments for 2026.
Several CS2 Tier 1 tournaments will not take place in 2026 because they missed the deadline for announcing additional details. None of the Starladder CS2 Tier 1 tournaments will take place in 2026. The same applies to two of the three Fissure CS2 Tier 1 tournaments in 2026 (Playground 4 and Playground 5). So far, Starladder has not announced any Tier 1 tournaments in 2027
It should be noted that this is not a final decision yet, and everything depends on Valve. The company can make an exception for both tournament operators, and the events can still take place. But there is no detailed information about this yet.
