IEM Cologne 2025 and BLAST Bounty Fall 2025 to be played on new patch featuring Overpass

ESL and BLAST have officially announced their transition to the new patch for their upcoming tournaments, as well as clarified which events will continue on the old version of the GAME with the Anubis map. This decision marks an important step in updating the CS2 meta , as the new patch introduces Overpass to the map pool, replacing Anubis.

Specifically, IEM Cologne 2025 and BLAST Bounty Fall 2025 will be held on the new patch with Overpass, allowing teams to utilize fresh mechanics and tactical opportunities of the map. Meanwhile, the qualifiers for BLAST Rising will proceed on the old patch with Anubis, but the closed qualifiers for BLAST, scheduled for early August, will already be played on Overpass and the new version of the GAME .

ESL has also confirmed that the current qualifiers for ESL Pro League Season 22 will be completed on the old patch with Anubis, despite the changes already made to the map pool. This will give teams the chance to finish the season on the familiar version of the GAME , but starting with major tournaments like IEM Cologne, all competitions will take place on the current patch with Overpass.
