StarLadder Returns to Host Second CS2 Major in 2025

StarLadder officially returns to host a major for CS2 . The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 will take place from November 24 to December 14 in Budapest, Hungary , with a prize pool of $1,250,000.

The tournament will be held across several venues, including the final playoffs, which will be at the MVM Dome Arena — the largest indoor sports venue in Hungary . In true StarLadder tradition, spectators will be able to attend all stages of the championship — from the very first day of play to the grand final.

The tournament format has not been officially disclosed yet, but it is expected to follow a standard three-stage structure, similar to the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Qualifications and the invitation system have also not been announced yet, but as before, the VRS and MRQ invitation system is likely to be used.

The previous major tournament, Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, was held in winter. Team Spirit emerged victorious, defeating FaZe in the grand final with a score of 2:1.

StarLadder last hosted a major back in 2019 in Berlin. In the final, the legendary Astralis won, marking a series of 3 consecutive major victories.
