At the IEM Melbourne 2025, the main match of the tournament concluded, where Vitality and Falcons faced off for the championship title.
This intense grand final, consisting of five maps, determined the tournament winner, while the losing team secured an honorable second place. Vitality showcased incredible composure and skill, finishing the series with a score of 3:2, while Falcons fought to the end, displaying spectacular and dedicated gameplay.
Match Progress
The first map, Inferno, immediately set the tone for the showdown. Vitality confidently started the match, showing dominant play on the CT side. The first half ended with a score of 10:2, and in the second half, Vitality swiftly closed out the map by winning three consecutive rounds. The final score was 13:2 in favor of Vitality .
On the second map, Dust2, Falcons managed to show their character. Despite a tense first half (7:5), Vitality held their own in the second half, but in overtime, Falcons demonstrated superiority, winning four rounds in a row. The map ended with a score of 16:12, tying the match at 1:1.
The third map was Train, where Falcons started with a slight advantage, finishing the first half with a score of 7:5. However, Vitality turned the game around, taking eight out of nine rounds in the second half. The final score of the map was 13:9 in favor of Vitality , who took the lead again in the series.
On Mirage, Falcons once again performed admirably. The first half ended with a tied score of 6:6, but in the second half, they took the initiative and closed the map with a victory, 13:10. This tied the match again at 2:2.
The decisive map, Nuke, became the most dramatic moment of the series. Falcons started brilliantly, securing a comfortable lead in the first half (9:3). However, Vitality regrouped in the second half, made up the deficit, and pushed the game into overtime. In the additional rounds, Vitality proved stronger, finishing the map with a score of 22:20 and securing the match victory.
