FrosT officially announced to join Talon
Talon Esports has appointed Hector "FrosT" Rosario as their new head coach, reuniting him with Aaron "b0i" Thao, whom he previously worked with in 2021.
According to the VALORANT global contract database, Hector "FrosT" Rosario has been announced as Talon Esports' new head coach. This American coach takes over the role from the former head coach Yuttanagorn "Zeus" Kaewkongyai.
The Thai team had a subpar performance in 2023, despite an impressive showing at the São Paulo opening event, failing to leave a strong mark in the regional VCT Pacific matches. Talon Esports ultimately ranked 9th, securing only one victory against DetonatioN FocusMe and failing to secure any wins in the last-chance qualifiers.
His addition to the coaching staff could mark the final step in Talon Esports' restructuring. Prior to this, the organization had moved away from an all-Thai player lineup in VALORANT, signing Joseph "ban" Seungmin Oh, Lionel "lenne" Lim, and Peter "Governor" No. FrosT made his debut with TLN at ESL Clash of Nations 2023, leading the team to the finals but ultimately falling to Team NKT.
FrosT brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached at 100 Thieves during VALORANT's inaugural year, winning the North American First Strike championship and securing a berth at the Berlin Masters. The 25-year-old coach reunites with Aaron "b0i" Thao at Talon Esports, his former teammate from 100 Thieves, both of whom departed from the team in November last year.
Apart from coaching, FrosT is also known as the founder and CEO of FlipSid3 Tactics, an organization that participated in nine CS Majors with its Swedish and CIS lineup. Former members included Ivan "Johnta" Shevcov, now coaching for FENNEL, and former Bleed Esports player Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi, who contributed to F3's success as both a coach and player.
