OXY reportedly set to join Sentinels as Cloud9 prepares roster rebuild

Sentinels is reportedly set to sign Francis “ OXY ” Hoang as its Duelist for the 2027 VCT season, according to Sheep Esports.

The move would end OXY ’s three-year spell with Cloud9 and place him in a Sentinels lineup preparing for the next VCT Americas partnership cycle. Neither organization had confirmed the transfer in the cited reports.

Cloud9 ’s partnership setback drives change

OXY joined Cloud9 in September 2023 and became one of its leading individual performers, including a standout 2025 Americas Stage 2 campaign in which he topped the regional player leaderboard.

Cloud9 nevertheless failed to convert those performances into qualification for a Masters or Champions event during his three seasons with The Team .

The organization subsequently missed out on selection for the 2027–2028 VCT partnership cycle. It has stated that it intends to remain in VALORANT and is conducting open Tryouts for a roster that Will compete through qualifiers.

According to the contract database cited by Sheep Esports, OXY ’s existing Cloud9 agreement runs through 2028, making the reported move a transfer rather than the arrival of an out-of-contract player.

Sentinels targets a new Duelist

Sentinels previously allowed Jerrwin to explore opportunities despite his contract also extending through 2028.

Its other listed players are johnqt , Reduxx , cortezia and JonahP . OXY ’s reported arrival would provide a new Duelist option as the organization looks to improve after failing to reach an international VCT tournament in 2026.

Sentinels retained its partnership status for the next two-season cycle.
