VALORANT patch 13.08 changes Corrode and introduces Map Rating
Riot Games has released VALORANT patch 13.08, introducing changes to Corrode, a new Map Rating system and a rotation of the Competitive map pool.
Corrode receives layout adjustments
Defender routes into the back of both bombsites have been shortened to improve rotations and retake access.
In Mid, Riot changed the half wall to metal and moved it outward by one metre, reducing opportunities for wall spam and allowing attackers to approach A Link without being seen from Top Mid. Nearby boxes and walls have also been adjusted.
The A-site plant zone has been changed to reduce the effectiveness of post-plant positions in A Link.
Map Rating launches
Available in Competitive and Premier, Map Rating evaluates players on a 0–500 scale, accompanied by a C–S grade. It considers overall win rate, attacking win rate, defending win rate and Performance Score, with recent matches carrying greater weight.
Historical matches will not count toward the new system, and ratings remain private.
Competitive map pool changes
Bind and Corrode enter the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, replacing Ascent and Split.
Riot also clarified Performance Score adjustments implemented during patch 13.06, including increased weighting for damage, adjusted kills and adjusted deaths.
