VALORANT replaces agent contracts with expanded Mastery system
Riot Games has introduced a new Agent Mastery system for VALORANT, replacing the game's previous character-specific contract progression.
The redesigned system will track how much players use individual agents as well as their performance during matches.
Increasing an agent's mastery level will unlock a variety of cosmetic rewards tied specifically to that character.
These include pistol skins, titles, sprays, gun buddies, and exclusive music tracks or sound themes.
Agent ID adds new profile customization
Agent Mastery will also introduce Agent ID, a new profile customization system.
Players will be able to personalize their Agent ID using character-specific artwork, borders, card styles, and backgrounds.
The system will display statistics and achievements such as total victories and first kills accumulated with individual agents.
VALORANT previously tied agent progression to contracts before moving those cosmetic rewards to the Kingdom Credits system.
Agent Mastery represents another major overhaul, turning character progression into a larger long-term system based around both playtime and performance.
The feature will arrive alongside Patch 13.06.
