hiro and Fnatic part ways
The former Papara SuperMassive player was brought on as a replacement for starting player Leo "Leo" Jannesson, who was forced to step down temporarily due to a number of health issues leading up to Split 2 of the VCT EMEA.
hiro was scouted outside of Fnatic 's affiliate partnership with Mandatory . Picking up Mandatory 's Damien "HyP" Souville would mean removing the team's IGL while they were fighting for an Ascension slot, while hiro and Papara SuperMassive had a much tougher path to the promotional tournament.
hiro played all of Stage 2 and Champions in Leo's place, becoming a key member in Fnatic 's EMEA title run and their Champions journey. At the world championship, despite strong numbers from the Danish stand-in, Fnatic struggled to make waves and ultimately exited the competition in the top six.
As the season ends, so does hiro's time with Fnatic and he is now a free agent. Fnatic 's starting roster is also reduced to three. Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev is currently a restricted free agent and, at the time of publishing, the organization has not whether Leo will return for the 2025 season, as it hinges on him being healthy enough to play.
Fnatic 's starting roster is now just:
- Jake "Boaster" Howlett
- Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov
- Emir "Alfajer" Ali Beder
- Colin "CoJo" Johnson (Manager)
- Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit (Head coach)
- Jacob "Mini" Harris (Assistant coach)
- Edgar "psych_chek" Chekera (Performance coach)
