Bigetron survive five-game elimination battle against Alter Ego to keep M8 hopes alive

Bigetron by Vitality defeated Alter Ego 3–2 in the MPL Indonesia Season 18 lower-bracket semifinal, keeping their championship defense and M8 qualification campaign alive.

The result eliminated Alter Ego in fourth place and sent Bigetron into the lower-bracket final.

Alter Ego strike first before Bigetron respond

Alter Ego won the opening game, putting Bigetron behind in another elimination series after their five-game battle against EVOS earlier in the playoffs.

Bigetron answered emphatically. They won game two with a 22–7 kill score, then followed with a 23–2 victory in kills in game three to take a 2–1 series lead.

The consecutive wins put Bigetron one game from advancing, but Alter Ego recovered in game four to force a decider.

Finn helps settle the fifth game

Bigetron ultimately won the deciding game, with Finn ’s Gloo providing an important contribution to disrupting Alter Ego ’s rhythm.

Finn received the Player of the Match award as Bigetron completed their second five-game elimination victory of the tournament.

The result also reversed the teams’ regular-season matchup. Alter Ego had won both meetings during that stage, but could not repeat those results when survival was at stake.

One more series separates Bigetron from M8

Bigetron advanced to face the loser of NAVI against Team Liquid ID in the lower-bracket final.

That best-of-seven series determines the second grand finalist and Indonesia’s remaining M8 World Championship representative.

Alter Ego ’s campaign ended after an opening victory Over ONIC followed by defeats to NAVI and Bigetron. For Bigetron, the win preserved the opportunity to recover from their own upper-bracket defeat to Liquid and return to the title match.
