RRQ Hoshi beat Geek Fam to end three-series losing run

RRQ Hoshi defeated Geek Fam ID 2–1 in MPL Indonesia Season 18, ending a three-series losing run with a victory in their final regular-season fixture.

The win followed defeats to Bigetron by Vitality , ONIC and Natus Vincere , giving RRQ a positive conclusion to a difficult league campaign.

RRQ Hoshi 2–1 Geek Fam ID

The best-of-three required all three games before RRQ secured the series. The result completed a regular-season double over Geek Fam, whom they had also beaten 2–0 in the teams’ first meeting.

RRQ entered the match after a 2–1 loss to Natus Vincere on October 16. Their previous two fixtures had also ended in defeat: 2–0 against Team Liquid ID and 2–1 against ONIC.

Geek Fam finish with consecutive defeats

Geek Fam were unable to recover from their 2–0 loss to Alter Ego the previous day, closing their regular-season schedule with back-to-back defeats.

Before those losses, Geek had recorded consecutive victories over Dewa United Esports , 2–1, and EVOS, 2–0. That improvement did not carry into their final two matches.

RRQ’s victory settled the return meeting between the sides and ended their recent losing sequence, while Geek were left without a win from the final weekend.
