MSC 2025 Knockout Stage Day 3: ONIC Falls, Indonesia Without a Representative in the Grand Finals
The third day of the MSC 2025 Knockout Stage featured two matches steeped in history and rivalry. Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG.OG) finally broke the curse of ONIC PH , while Team Liquid PH (TLPH) outclassed ONIC ID to secure a spot in the Grand Finals.
SRG.OG vs ONIC PH (3–2): The End of a Curse, the Beginning of a New History
The battle between defending champions SRG.OG and M6 world champions ONIC PH was intense. SRG immediately took the lead in the first game with quick aggression and sharp rotations. Innocent shone in the gold lane, closing out the match with Maniac .
ONIC PH responded in the second game with a crucial wipeout, leveling the score. However, SRG went on a rampage again in the third game. Stormie became ONIC PH's nightmare with Pharsa, leading the way quickly before the 11-minute mark.
The fourth game was a turning point for ONIC PH. They capitalized on SRG's aggression to mount an effective counterattack, forcing a fifth game. In the decider, SRG performed even sharper. Stormie was once again the driving force of the attack, and SRG closed the match with a wipeout on Lord Dance.
Interesting Facts : This is SRG's first win over ONIC PH in the history of their meeting. SRG is now just one step away from becoming the first team to win the MSC twice in a row.
Team Liquid PH vs ONIC (3–1): ONIC's Hopes Are Dashed
TLPH came with a well-thought-out strategy and disciplined execution. Sanford dominated the first game , leaving ONIC ID unable to keep up with the pace.
The second game was a close contest, but KarlTzy capitalized on ONIC's positioning to secure Lord and a narrow victory. ONIC briefly rallied in the third game with a tanky lineup and effective counterpushing, but TLPH regained control in the fourth game.
With immaculate macro and flawless scaling, TLPH closed out the series with a flawless base crash , securing their spot in the MSC 2025 Grand Finals for the first time under the Liquid banner.
