Khezcute Reveals Playing Mage in Gold Lane is a Solution to Counter Assassin META

When asked about one of the causes of RRQ Hoshi 's defeat in the classic derby, Khezcute said he was currently testing the latest patch. The updates in the game require the team nicknamed the King of All Kings to also make improvements, on Sunday (09/22/2024).
In addition, he also revealed that one of the things he tested was how to counter the Assassin META, but on the other hand, he still took advantage of the influence of the buff from the patch update on the Mages.
He concluded that by placing the right Mage hero in the Gold Lane, there are many opportunities to counter Assassin, with the crowd control he has.
"I think the potential of Mage heroes in the Gold Lane is quite large. Especially Cecilion and Alice. Those two heroes don't need blue buff for their mana regen. Alice only relies on her skills, without blue buff, her mana regen is already fast," he said.
Khezcute gave an example of using Alice in Gold Lane. According to him, Alice could be an option to counter META Assassin.
Not without reason, Alice is a Mage who has good scaling. Besides Alice, Khezcute also mentioned Cecilion's name.
"Alice also has good scaling, and is suitable to fight Assassins in my opinion. Especially now that the META is Assassin, we need a hero with good scaling. Alice or Cecilion could be an option," explained Khezcute.
However, behind all that, Alice also has a considerable weakness that affects the course of the match. Especially on the laning side which is quite slow.
"It should be able to counter Assassin. But, again, Alice needs items, and her laning is also lacking. So players also need to know her weaknesses. But, I'm sure, next week there will be even more (use of Mage in the Gold Lane)," concluded Khezcute.
Patch updates and META Assassin are at odds. Because, if you want to take advantage of the patch update from the Mage buff, it will be easy to be kidnapped by Assassin. It's a dilemma, but not for RRQ Hoshi 's coach.
