The Reason RRQ Didn't Buy the MPL PH Slot, Too Expensive?

RRQ is an esports team that can be said to be quite large, with that status, what is the real reason why they don't just buy the MPL PH slot? 

Most esports fans probably know RRQ as the Indonesian Mobile Legends team only, which is understandable considering how popular they are there. 

RRQ itself actually also opened several other divisions and branches besides Mobile Legends Indonesia, including Valorant, PUBG, while one of its branches is in the Philippines. 

Their own Philippine branch participated in last season's MDL PH under the name RRQ Kaito and was quite successful in achieving a good position and finally the championship title. 

RRQ AP Feels MPL PH Slot Price Is Not Worth the Benefits

Through RRQ AP's personal live broadcast last week (3rd week of July 2024), the CEO of the team stated the reason why he did not buy the MPL PH slot. 

AP immediately started by leaking the price, which was $ 1,000,000 or around Rp. 16,214,450,000, a fairly large price, but that was not the only reason for RRQ. 

RRQ feels that the price is not balanced with a proper reward, such as sponsorship from MPL PH itself is not as much as in Indonesia, and the prizes are also not that big. 

This is clearly a big consideration in RRQ because creating a team or division must be profitable, not just for fun or desire. 

" Why not buy an MPL PH slot? It costs $1,000,000, and there aren't as many sponsors as in Indonesia, so it's hard (to buy), because it's important, not just for fun, the prizes aren't that big, so no ," AP explained.

That's the reason why RRQ did not open a branch or division in MPL PH, the sponsorship and prizes were considered insufficient to make the team abandon its intention to expand its wings there. 

It is clear that we can conclude that the response offered by MPL PH is still considered insufficient for RRQ, we do not know whether it is still considered a loss or a profit but only a little. 

RRQ is a big esports team, of course a big decision like this has been considered carefully, many calculations have certainly been made.
