MVK Esports 3:0 FURIA

MVK Esports began their Worlds 2026 campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory over FURIA in the Play-In upper-bracket semifinals.

Despite entering the series as underdogs, the Vietnamese representatives dominated their Brazilian opponents to secure an upper-bracket final meeting with Karmine Corp .

MVK make strong international debut

MVK entered the series featuring several players with limited international experience.

However, the roster showed little hesitation against FURIA , taking control of the best-of-five and winning three consecutive games.

The victory provided an impressive opening result for the team and placed FURIA under immediate elimination pressure.

Chika surprises with mid-lane Kog'Maw

One of the series' standout moments came in Game 3, when Võ "Chika" Lê Nhân selected Kog'Maw in the mid lane.

According to BO3, it was the first time Chika had used the champion in his professional career.

The unconventional pick helped MVK close the series without dropping a game.

Chika was named the standout player of the match, recording weighted averages of 5.5 kills, 2.3 deaths and 7.8 assists while dealing approximately 31,400 damage per game.

FURIA drop to lower bracket

The defeat sends FURIA into a lower-bracket elimination match against Cloud9 .

MVK Esports will instead face Karmine Corp , with the winner advancing toward the final qualification place in the Worlds Swiss stage.

All Play-In matches use a best-of-five format with Fearless Draft, with only one team advancing from the four-team bracket.
