Rooster says difficult LEC season has strengthened his motivation
Shifters top laner Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan says his difficult 2026 season in Europe has only increased his desire to prove himself before potentially moving on from the region.
The Korean player reflected on his time in the LEC, his relationship with nuc and his plans as he approaches free agency.
Rooster still believes he can compete at a higher level
Rooster said watching the LEC playoffs after his own season ended left him with some regret, as he felt he was capable of playing at the same level or better.
Despite Shifters struggling throughout the year, the 21-year-old believes the experience has strengthened his motivation rather than discouraged him.
He described his time in Europe as difficult but valuable, particularly because of the relationships and experience he gained while adapting to a different competitive environment.
Free agency decision still ahead
Rooster's current contract with Shifters runs until November.
He said he remains hungry to prove himself before leaving Europe and will evaluate his options once the offseason begins.
The top laner joined the European scene after previously competing in Korea 's development system and has now spent two seasons playing in the LEC.
