Patch 26.20 preview targets Worlds meta with item nerfs and champion buffs

Riot Games has outlined the full preview for League of Legends Patch 26.20, the final balance update before the 2026 World Championship.

The patch focuses on targeted adjustments rather than major systemic changes, with Riot indicating it is largely satisfied with the current competitive meta following the regional playoffs.

Rocketbelt, Hexplate and Runaan's targeted

Hextech Rocketbelt is set to lose part of its Ability Haste while receiving stronger active damage.

Experimental Hexplate and Runaan's Hurricane are also being nerfed as Riot looks to reduce the power of several items that have become prominent in the current meta.

Several champions receive buffs

Diana, Lillia, Neeko, Smolder and Vayne are among the champions scheduled to receive buffs.

Riot's stated goal is to make smaller adjustments around the edges of the meta rather than dramatically reshape professional play immediately before Worlds.

Patch 26.20 will serve as the final Worlds patch ahead of the tournament beginning in October.
