NightSlayer to compete remotely at WSCI 2026 due to visa issues

Movistar KOI Fénix top laner Ivan "NightSlayer" Bilous will compete remotely at the World Star Challengers Invitational 2026 after visa issues prevented him from traveling to South Korea with the rest of the team.

Movistar KOI confirmed that NightSlayer will participate from a separate location while his teammates compete from the tournament venue.

The organization has also registered Chan "Chan" Chan Ho as a substitute in case NightSlayer becomes unable to participate.

Visa complications prevent travel

Movistar KOI began preparing NightSlayer's travel documents after the team qualified for WSCI.

According to the organization, the Ukrainian player's immigration status as a refugee created additional requirements and restrictions during the visa process.

The club worked with Riot Games to explore possible solutions before eventually arranging for NightSlayer to compete remotely.

Movistar KOI did not disclose the location from which he will play.

Chan registered as backup

Chan has been registered as a substitute top laner to ensure the team can continue competing if further issues affect NightSlayer's participation.

Movistar KOI Fénix earned their place at WSCI through the European qualifier.

The team swept Bushido Wildcats 3:0 in the semifinal before defeating Big. 3:2 in the decisive qualification series.

The World Star Challengers Invitational 2026 will run from September 20 to October 2 and feature 16 teams from the Tier-2 League of Legends ecosystem.
