Bin Fined for Missing Fan Interaction During LPL Matchday
Bilibili Gaming top laner Ze-Bin “Bin” Chen has been fined ¥150,000, approximately $22,160, after failing to participate in a required on-stage fan interaction segment during an LPL matchday on June 3.
Bilibili Gaming were also fined ¥50,000, approximately $7,390, after the league found problems with the organization’s pre-match player management and behavioral guidance.
According to the LPL disciplinary notice, Bin did not complete his matchday obligations during the interaction segment. The league said the incident affected event operations, the audience experience, and the overall match atmosphere.
The LPL stated that Bin violated Article 12.2.2 of the League of Legends Pro League Competition Rules. Bilibili Gaming were also held responsible under Article 12.5.1 for failing to properly supervise and guide the player before the match.
Alongside the financial penalties, Bin received a public criticism notice and was ordered to take part in additional education and training. Bilibili Gaming were also publicly criticized by the league.
The disciplinary team urged both the player and the organization to review the incident and correct the issues. It also reminded all LPL participants to follow professional standards, respect the competition and the audience, and improve internal procedures to avoid similar incidents.
Bin has been one of Bilibili Gaming ’s key players for several years and is widely considered one of the strongest top laners in the LPL . The incident occurred during the ongoing LPL season, where players are required to complete matchday duties beyond competing on stage.
