Son Heung-min: I started playing League of Legends 5 years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic. I knew about League of Legends before, but only started playing then. My friends laughed at me, saying "What are you doing? You can't even play League of Legends." It was really hard to take the first step as a beginner.
I initially played as a jungler, and my favorite champions are Lee Sin, Nidalee, Rammus, Viego, and Vi, because as a jungler, I need to intervene in different lanes and seize opportunities to win the game. This is very similar to football, where I am a forward and need to score if there's a chance. So, I have a strong desire to win the game.
If I want to play with friends, we need to schedule in advance because of the 8-9 hour time difference. We play on the Korean server, which is challenging due to playing with over 200 ping. I also often watch matches and practice in my mind, watching the LCK is very helpful.
Q: What is your favorite team?
Son Heung-min: My favorite team is T1. Three years ago, I went to Korea with Tottenham, and after training, I met T1 and took pictures with every player. I have some connection with player Faker. To me, Faker is the best in e-sports history, maintaining his competitive level for ten years, which is truly amazing.
