kkOma: We will show that "the way out is not only in the top lane" in the losers' final.

kkOma: We will show that "the way out is not only in the top lane" in the losers' final.

Live Broadcast September 2: The 2024 LCK Summer Playoff media day took place today, and Korean media fomos released a video interview from the media day. Here are some excerpts:

Q: This question is for Coach GEN.KIM. After the Spring Playoffs, you will once again wait for the winner between HLE and T1 in the finals. Does attending the media day without knowing your final opponent affect the team's morale? What impact does it have?

Coach KIM: It has no impact. We will watch the match and prepare for the team that advances to the finals.

Q: This question is for Coach kkOma. From the match against DK, it is evident that if Zeus plays well, T1 is more likely to win. In the previous match against HLE, when Zeus was restricted, T1 struggled. HLE will likely aim to recreate the same scenario in the losers' final. What efforts and improvements do you think T1 needs to make?

Coach kkOma: In the current version, we have prepared a variety of picks and strategies. We will show that "the way out is not only in the top lane" in the losers' final.

Q: This question is for all three coaches. The outcome of this final will set many records, such as GEN's fifth consecutive LCK title, HLE's first championship since rebuilding, and T1's 11th LCK title. What are your thoughts on these records?

Coach KIM: The outcome of this final will determine whether we achieve five consecutive LCK titles. However, we don't talk much about this within the team. We usually only address it when journalists ask. It's not something we focus on internally. But it's a remarkable record, and I really want to win. I want to achieve the five consecutive titles and show everyone our best side.

Coach kkOma: Personally, I don't care much about these records. If we do achieve them, it means we won the championship, and that would make me very happy. I'm only focused on winning the championship, not on the records.

Coach DanDy: I also don't care about the records. If we achieve them while moving towards our goal, I would be very happy.

Q: This question is for Coaches kkOma and DanDy. If you want to win the championship, you must defeat GEN. What is the most concerning aspect when facing GEN, and what preparations are needed?

Coach kkOma: First, if we get to face GEN, it means we are in a good position, and I would be very happy. I think we must remain vigilant against GEN until we win three games in a BO5.

Coach DanDy: I think GEN is a very solid team. They often win team fights even when at a disadvantage and have shown diversity in their champion pool. I think it will be difficult to beat GEN unless we show something special that surpasses them.

Q: This question is for Coach GEN.KIM. In an interview after winning the Spring Playoffs, you mentioned that Canyon had prepared Shaco jungle and made many preparations for the draft. Have you prepared any secret weapons for this Summer Playoff final?

Coach KIM: It wasn't the Spring Playoffs but MSI. We have also practiced a variety of champions. Not only our team but our opponents have also prepared many special champions. Banning meta champions doesn't make much sense now. We will also use a variety of champions.

Q: This question is for the coaches of T1 and GEN. You participated in the Saudi Esports World Cup during the season. Many people say that participating in an international tournament mid-season can negatively affect your form. Looking back at the Saudi Esports World Cup, did it have a significant impact, or did it have a positive effect instead? Please share your thoughts.

Coach kkOma: I think returning from abroad definitely affects our form. But the Saudi Esports World Cup is a great event, so we had to endure those impacts.

Coach KIM: The flight time was long, and the schedule was exhausting. The players also said they were tired after returning, but it was a predetermined situation, and we had to participate. There were no complaints.

Q: This is a question unrelated to the match. The players are preparing for the match and must be very tired. What do you want to do after the match ends?

Zeka : Before the loser's bracket final, we didn't have much time to train, and there were many filming schedules. After the summer season ends, we will immediately start the World Championship, so there's actually not much time to rest. I will probably rest at home with my family and then start training.

Peanut : I will also take a proper rest for a while. The World Championship is starting soon, so I will train and prepare for it at the same time. Many of my friends are getting married in September, so I will attend their weddings and wish them well.

Lehends : The schedule so far has been very tiring. I'm very tired now and will probably be tired in the future as well. Because of MSI and overseas schedules, I wanted to rest after the spring season ended, but the coach didn't go to Vietnam to rest. I really want to rest. This time, I will rest well and then prepare for the World Championship.

Chovy : After the finals, I will probably rest. This year isn't over yet. Instead of completely immersing myself in rest, I will rest well with the idea of "charging forward again."

faker : After the summer season ends, there will still be matches. I will focus on managing my condition, eating well, sleeping well, and exercising well.

Zeus : If we make it to the World Championship, there won't be much time to rest. I will rest properly.
