Chovy: Renewing my contract wasn't too difficult, GEN treats me very well

Q：Chovy, Kiin, Canyon, and Lehends, could you share the circumstances behind Chovy's contract renewal with GEN and the addition of Kiin, Canyon, and Lehends to the team? How did you feel at that time?

Chovy: Renewing with GEN marks my third year with the team. Honestly, I didn't have much difficulty with the renewal. GEN is a great team and treats me well. There weren't major issues during the renewal process, so I happily renewed.

Q: Kiin, you recently joined GEN. Could you talk about the story behind signing with the team?

Kiin: It's hard to disclose specifics about the signing. My teammates are well-known players, and that's how I joined GEN, in short.

Q: Canyon, what was your mindset when joining GEN?

Canyon: After becoming a free agent, GEN was the first team I met, and I felt they were really good. So, I immediately signed with them.

Q: Lehends, what prompted your decision to join GEN?

Lehends: I won my first LCK championship with GEN and left behind some great memories. However, there were some regrets. With mixed emotions of good memories and regrets, I wanted to perform well again, so I joined GEN.

Q: Who will be the captain for GEN in 2024?

Chovy: We can answer that with our eyes.

Kiin, Canyon, Chovy, and Peyz look at Lehends.

Q: Lehends, who are you looking at?

Lehends: Actually, it's not decided yet.

Q: But it seems the remaining four have already decided?

Lehends: We'll have a meeting later to decide on the captain.

Q: Why do you think Lehends should be the captain? Chovy, what's your view?

Chovy: Using a process of elimination, thinking about who would be most suitable, Lehends remains. I believe he's the best fit for the role.

Q: Lehends, your expression seems to be getting worse. Besides yourself, who do you recommend as captain?

Lehends: Personally, I think Kiin would also make a great captain.

Q: Why?

Lehends: Because Kiin has been in the professional scene for a long time, and this is our third year working together. He has exceptional leadership, looks handsome, and cute. Everyone would listen to him.

Q: Lehends suggests Kiin.

Kiin: It's my first time joining GEN, and I'm not the oldest. I think either Chovy or Lehends should be the captain. It's regretful for me.

Q: What were your initial impressions of each other? Who was most different from your expectations?

Kiin: We've met for a short time, so I haven't really noticed any significant differences among us yet.

Q: Canyon, whose initial impression was most different from what you expected?

Canyon: Everyone was mostly how I expected, not too different.

Q: What did you originally expect from each other? For example, what did you think Kiin was like?

Canyon: I thought Kiin would be quiet and reserved, and he is pretty much like that.

Q: What about Chovy?

Canyon: Chovy is also quiet... (laughs) How do I put it... He seems to talk more once we get closer. Peyz and Kiin feel quite similar to me. Lehends has a lively personality.

Q: Do you find Lehends funnier than you expected, or not as funny?

Lehends: Funnier.

Q: Chovy, what was your initial impression of the new teammates?

Chovy: I think Kiin is the most different from my initial impression.

Q: Why is that?

Chovy: From a distance, I thought Kiin was like a robot, but it's not the case. He's the most different from my initial impression.

Q: Kiin isn't a robot?

Chovy: He's not a robot.

Q: What specifically does this mean? Any backstory?

Chovy: We're still getting to know each other. Next time, when there's an opportunity, I'll share more after accumulating more data.

Q: Peyz, seeing the new teammates again and reuniting with Chovy, who do you think had the most different initial impression?

Peyz: I think Canyon is the most different from my initial impression.

Q: Why?

Lehends: Are you going to say that thing? Something big is about to happen.

Peyz: I initially thought Canyon was very reserved and quiet. While he is like that, he also has a playful side, which surprised me.

Q: What about Lehends?

Lehends: I already knew two teammates before, it was my first time meeting Canyon and Peyz. Both of them were different from my initial impressions and were interesting. Canyon was mysterious; he suddenly asked me to blow air at the air purifier, which was the first time in my life I heard such a request, it was a headache. I don't know why he asked me to do that, maybe if the air quality was bad, the purifier's light would turn red. He might have been curious, so he asked me to blow air. It was really hard to understand.

Q: Canyon, why did you ask Lehends to do that? Out of curiosity?

Canyon: Just out of curiosity.
