Joe Marsh: LCK teams will take a share of our championship skin revenue just like we took a share of DRX's skin revenue

Recently, T1 CEO Joe Marsh joined LS's livestream to discuss the development of LCK and revenue sharing from championship skins.

LS: The LCS has now become eight teams. What are your thoughts on that? How do you view the proposal to reduce LCK to eight teams?

Joe Marsh: I think it's a good decision for the LCS. I support LCK's move towards the fearless contract model in the APAC region. Besides China, creating a league with four Korean teams, along with teams from Japan and Vietnam, is healthier for attracting sponsorships and revenue. Arnold has been talking about these topics; he's right—clubs need to become healthier.

If we win the World Championship, shouldn't the organization make money? For instance, through skin revenue, etc. Winning the biggest event in this field should bring you benefits, right? But the fact is, LCK teams will take a share of our championship skin revenue, which I can't understand. Especially that even teams not making it to Worlds will get a share, not just the four teams advancing to Worlds.

LS: Wait, what? You're saying LCK teams will take T1's championship skin revenue?

Joe Marsh: Yes, just like how we took DRX's championship skin revenue.

LS: What? I don't think this is public information, is it? You get championship skin revenue every year? Or only in the first year?

Joe Marsh: I'm not sure either; we haven't received DRX's championship skin revenue yet.
