Ssumday has announced that he won't be joining any team for the 2024 Spring Split
On the evening of November 18, according to the foreign media SHEEPESPORTS, Korean top laner Ssumday announced that he will be taking a break for a while and will not join any team for the upcoming Spring Split next year.
Ssumday made his debut in the Korean league scene with KT Rolster in the 2013 season. He claimed his first league championship in the 2014 summer split but faced a defeat in the regional qualifiers against Najin White Shield that year, missing out on Worlds. In the 2015 season, he managed to qualify for the World Championship after winning the regional qualifiers but was eliminated in the quarterfinals against KOO Tigers, stopping at the quarterfinals.
In 2017, he moved to North America to join Team Dignitas, where his performance was average. In 2018, he transferred to 100 Thieves, but they failed to progress beyond the group stage in the Worlds that year, ending with a 2-4 record. For the following two years, 100 Thieves struggled in the middle of the league standings. Finally, in 2021, with the arrival of jungler Closer and bot lane duo FBI and Huhi, they secured their first-ever league championship in the summer split. However, despite qualifying for Worlds in the 2021-2022 season for two consecutive years, Ssumday's team couldn't advance from the group stage.
In the spring split of 2023, Ssumday was traded to Evil Geniuses and secured a second-place finish in the league, but upon returning to 100 Thieves in the summer, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
