PlayTime parts ways with bottega and KJ following Astini’s departure
PlayTime has announced the departures of carry bottega and support KJ, leaving its recently assembled Dota 2 roster with three active players.
The changes follow coach Astini’s departure, which became public on October 23, and arrive less than two weeks after the organization unveiled its updated lineup.
DreamLeague qualification ends in disappointment
The roster’s only tournament appearance together came in the DreamLeague Season 30 South America qualifier, where PlayTime finished third and missed qualification. Skyreavers secured the region’s tournament berth.
Bottega had joined PlayTime on loan from BetBoom Team, while KJ occupied the position-five role and served as captain.
The organization thanked both players for their contributions but had not announced replacements or publicly explained the reasoning behind the changes.
Astini describes conflicting expectations
Speaking about his own removal, Astini said the decision came from the organization without consultation with the players.
According to the coach, he expected the project to require six to nine months of development, while management wanted faster results. He also said that his contract had not been finalized before the relationship ended.
Those comments represent Astini’s account of the situation; PlayTime had not provided a corresponding explanation.
Three players remain
PlayTime’s remaining active lineup consists of Abed, fcr and elmisho. Scofield remains inactive.
The organization must now fill its carry and position-five vacancies, alongside resolving its coaching situation, before the team can resume competition with a complete roster.
