Ace leaves Team Liquid after one season

Team Liquid has parted ways with Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard following the conclusion of the 2026 Dota 2 season.

The Danish offlaner joined Liquid in October 2025 alongside longtime teammate Erik "tOfu" Engel after leaving Gaimin Gladiators .

His departure had already been the subject of rumors following The International 2026, where Team Liquid finished 5th–6th.

The organization has not yet announced Ace's replacement.

One season with Team Liquid

Ace joined Liquid as part of the team's post-TI 2025 rebuild and spent nearly a year with the organization.

During that period, Liquid won BLAST Slam VI and 1win Essence II, while also recording several deep tournament runs throughout the season.

The roster entered The International 2026 with Ace, miCKe , Nisha , Boxi , and tOfu.

Liquid defeated Team Falcons during the main event but were eventually eliminated by Team Spirit , ending their run in 5th–6th place.

Ace's exit marks the first confirmed player departure from Liquid's active roster following TI 2026.

The organization now enters the post-TI reshuffle with its position-three role vacant.
