Quinn on Gladiators: "We were terrible, but now we're finding our game again"

Midlaner for Gaimin Gladiators , Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, gave an interview to the tournament operator BLAST. He discussed the disappointing start to the season, the team's restructuring, and his personal struggles.

According to Quinn, Gaimin Gladiators are to blame for the decline in performance after the last TI.

"We were garbage for most of the year. Results started to improve a bit, but we're still in the process. We just got lazy. Took long breaks, relaxed, and underestimated the impact of a player change. This combination of factors made us super weak."

The player emphasized that the issues were not due to the new carry watson , but the rest of the team.

" watson had nothing to do with it. We played poorly and didn't put in the necessary effort, which cost us a lot of time."

The departure of Seleri and the arrival of Malady affected the team's playstyle, especially in drafts.

" Malady likes heroes with a lot of skills, while Seleri played heroes with control and focused on farming. It's a different style, and we needed to adjust."

Quinn has a reserved opinion about the current patch 7.38c.

"This patch is okay. Not the best, not the worst. The problem isn't the patch—we just need to play better."

When asked what needs to change for the team to start winning again, the midlaner replied:

"Everyone needs to do the little things perfectly and play to their full potential. Then everything starts to click. That's the essence—when everyone is on the same page, the game becomes simple."

Quinn also shared memories of the beginning of his career in Dota 2.

"I always doubted myself. In North America, you just play, try hard, but end up in 12th place and go home. Gaimin Gladiators were my last chance. I didn't know if I was good enough, but I decided to give it a shot."

The player admitted that losing in the TI finals was the hardest for him.

"The first time wasn't as painful—they just wiped us out. But the second was the worst loss of my life. It's the only tournament I want to win. The others don't matter to me."

When asked about his future after retiring, Quinn answered:

"I don't know what I want to do, but I like the talent scene. There are a lot of great people there, and I would like to be part of that community."

Gaimin Gladiators ' next match will be against Team Spirit on May 6 as part of the BLAST Slam III tournament. The prize pool for the competition is $1,000,000.
