Team Spirit shared what it takes to make it to the pro scene in Dota 2

In order to become an esports player and break into the Dota 2 professional scene, one first has to actively grind their MMR to be within the top 100 leaderboard. That is the point where teams begin paying attention to players.

This was explained by Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin, the CEO of Team Spirit , as he responded to fans’ questions during a Telegram channel.

“How difficult is it to get into Dota esports? In Dota it is as transparent as it gets – just grind ranked, get into the top 100/50 depending on your role, and provided you do not match-fix, you will get a chance from someone”

In his statement, he reasoned that a player who actively plays matchmaking and gets to the top 100, or better yet, the top 50, will guaranteed attract attention and get a chance to showcase their skills in a professional team. Match fixing is of course prohibited, as Cheshir highlighted, but is meticulously watched for by those attempting to become professional players.
