Meta in Dota 2 has changed again with the arrival of patch 7.38b owing to certain preferences that have set in during matchmaking. These changes came with certain favorites that appear distinctly effective to each role.
Best Carry
In the carry role, Nature's Prophet makes the cut with a whopping 54% win rate. Following the latest patch, he has become increasingly effective, making him a common pick in pubs.
Best Midlaner
Win rates suggest that Monkey King has taken over the mid players’ list of picks with an impressive 55.7%. He is very useful in matchmaking and is one of the easiest to get wins with.
Best Offlaner
Abaddon is currently sitting at the top of the offlane at a staggering 56.1% win rate. He is all rounded but is most effective in the offlaner role.
Best Position 4 Support
Soft supports have really taken a liking to the Shadow Shaman having win rate of 56.8%. After proving his prowess in Dota 2 matchmaking, he emerged as a top pick in patch 7.38b.
Best Hard Support
To round out the full support pool, Clockwerk slots in as the best available in Dota 2 pubs with a good 54.3% win rate. Positioned as five, he is voted by players the most.
