The organizers of Riyadh Masters 2025 have changed the tournament's rules
The requirements for participating in Riyadh Masters 2025 have now changed and the participant cap for one of the largest Dota 2 competitions will now stand at 16 instead of 20. Furthermore, champions from the previous year will automatically be granted a direct invite.
This was shared on the official events page on X (Twitter).
It is also stated that Riyadh Masters 2025's prize pool has been cut yet again from 5 million USD to 3 million dollars. The number of participating teams has also been slashed, while the Single Elimination rule has been added to the playoffs which indicates that teams will be eliminated after one loss.
As was noted earlier, last year's champion team no longer has to fight for a slot in the tournament as now they are guaranteed a direct invite to defend their title.
The complete list of participants will probably be disclosed a little closer to the beginning of the tournament on July 8, as that date nor the participants have been announced yet. As stated, the top eight teams who posses the highest EPT points will also be invited to the tournament without having to go through the qualifiers.
As previously mentioned, the prize pool for Riyadh Masters 2025 has been reduced again.
