“Why pick Glimmer Cape on cores? It's just cheap magic damage reduction. There aren't many good items for that in Dota 2 right now. Nobody really buys Pipe because it’s expensive. So, on cores Pipe isn't bought anymore. Maybe on a Dark Seer because you don’t have many other options. Glimmer is just a cheap item—a magic resistance and invisibility item. Also Nether Shawl was nerfed so Glimmer is a replacement. That is why it is popular with cores, they sell it after the have used it. Even if you just need a slot you can buy it and sell it. But really, it can save you more than once.”
