The organizers have unexpectedly changed the rules for Riyadh Masters 2025

There’s a twist. According to the organizers of the Riyadh Masters 2025 event that is part of the Esports World Cup, clubs are no longer permitted to enter a squad that is made up of representatives from several clubs, a practice that was tolerable last year.

The official page of the event posted an announcement on  X (Twitter previously) about this development.

 G2 X iG approach at the Riyadh Masters 2024 will no longer be possible, where they drew players from both the same and different organizations as part of one roster. Though the cause of this new order is very much related with the previous paragraph. The organizers stated, however, that this should not be the case unless developers specifically authorize it.

Also, competition under a single tag is now mandatory for clubs aiming to gain qualification points and thereby be represented in the overall Esports World Cup leaderboard. This is not likely to be the last of the amendments, more can be expected in the early months of the year when the complete rulebook of the tournament is expected to be made live.
