ATF caught exploiting a bug in Dota 2 matchmaking: player may face a ban from Valve
Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, the offlaner for Team Falcons , was caught using a bug with Hand Of Midas to exploit gold in Dota 2 matchmaking. Such a violation could result in a ban from Valve.
This was brought to attention by Reddit users.
Notably, this wasn’t an isolated incident; the player exploited gold in at least three matches by purchasing Hand Of Midas in each one. This is evidenced by the fact that the player earned up to 20,000 gold in just 10 minutes, indicating the use of the bug.
It's worth mentioning that ATF isn't the only one using the bug in matchmaking, but he's the only tier-1 player who has been caught so far. Exploiting bugs is also prohibited by Dota 2 rules, and such actions can lead to a ban.
It’s also worth noting that Saeed " SumaiL " Hassan was previously given a lifetime ban by Valve for a similar offense.
