Topson spoke about the biggest mistake of his career
Topias " Topson " Taavitsainen, the midlaner for Tundra Esports , admitted that he regrets taking a long break from Dota 2, which negatively impacted his professional career.
He shared this in an interview at Riyadh Masters 2024.
"Yes, I regret taking the break. I think it ruined my career in many ways. In hindsight, it was a wasted year, but I mean, it seemed like the right decision at the time, but it's one of those moments I regret"
He believes that his year-long hiatus while playing for OG in 2021-2022 seemed like the right decision at the time. However, the two-time world champion now thinks he would change that decision if he could.
It is worth noting that Topson decided to take a break from Dota 2, citing a loss of motivation to compete in the pro scene. By that time, he had already earned nearly 6 million dollars in prize money and was considered one of the most successful players in the world.
After returning to the pro scene, he initially played for T1 before moving to Tundra Esports as a midlaner.
Additionally, Topson recently began performing successfully with a highly unpopular hero ahead of Riyadh Masters 2024.
