XG ended Team Spirit's record streak of 21 consecutive series wins

In yesterday's BetBoom Dacha group stage, Xtreme Gaming managed to equalize the score after losing the first game, ultimately settling for a 1-1 draw with Team Spirit, thus officially halting Team Spirit's streak of 21 consecutive series wins. Since their match against Evil Geniuses in the 21st season of the Dream League in September 2023, Team Spirit had not lost or been tied in any series until now. This streak extended through TI12, the 22nd season of the Dream League Eastern Europe qualifiers, and the ESL Birmingham Eastern Europe qualifiers, where they remained unbeaten. However, Xtreme Gaming put an end to this record in the second round of the BetBoom Dacha group stage. Nevertheless, Team Spirit still holds a streak of 32 series matches undefeated. Their last series loss dates back to the Riyadh Masters in July 2023, when they were defeated 0-2 by Quest Esports in the group stage. Since then, Team Spirit has accumulated an impressive record of 28 wins and 4 draws in multiple series matches.
As for the record for the longest winning streak in individual matches, it is held by Newbee, who achieved 29 consecutive victories during 2016 with the lineup of Hao, Mu, kpii, Kaka, and ChuaN. This record was broken by OG, led by Miracle- and N0tail, during the playoffs of the same year's Epicenter tournament.
When it comes to the team with the most extended periods of consecutive wins, Team Secret is undoubtedly the first team that comes to mind. Since its formation, they have achieved over 20 consecutive victories four times. However, their last streak of over 20 wins dates back to 2020, when they achieved 21 consecutive wins with the lineup of MATUMBAMAN, Nisha, zai, YapzOr, and Puppey. This record was eventually broken by Team Unique during the ESL Birmingham Eastern and Western Europe qualifiers. Interestingly, among those who contributed to ending this streak was dyrachyo, who was on loan from Team Spirit to Team Unique during that tournament.
