Valve is actively improving anti-cheat in Counter-Strike 2: VACnet 3.0 - Gabe Follower

In his new video, Gabe Follower, a well-known analyst of the CS community, told that Valve is preparing to launch an updated VACnet 3.0 anti-cheat system in Counter-Strike 2. This long-awaited improvement is aimed at fighting cheaters more effectively and ensuring fair gameplay for all users.

VACnet 3.0 testing results
Over the past year, Valve has been regularly testing anti-cheat modules, activating and deactivating them in the game from time to time. This approach has allowed collecting a huge amount of data to analyze and improve the system. According to Gabe Follower, the developers paid special attention to combating obvious types of cheats, such as raid, AI assist, and spinners.

One of the key elements of VACnet 3.0 is the integration of a special bot that connects to a suspicious player. When this bot is connected, a slight lag and FpS drop is observed. If the suspicious behavior continues, the user receives a temporary ban for 24 hours within five rounds. This ban significantly reduces their trust factor, and in case of repeated violations, they are placed in a separate pool of players with low trust.

Why now?
VACnet 3.0 is expected to be fully activated next week, as Valve has announced the second season of Premier in CS2 for the same period. This strategic decision will allow developers to start the new season with an improved anti-cheat system that should minimize the number of offenders on the servers.

Community reaction
The gaming community is already actively discussing the testing of VACnet 3.0. Although some players are facing temporary bans due to possible false positives, most users are positive about Valve's efforts:

“Finally, the developers have taken the cheater problem seriously. VACnet 3.0 looks promising,” one player commented on Reddit.

“The ability to train the anti-cheat based on data is a real breakthrough,” adds another user.

The introduction of VACnet 3.0 is an important step in the development of Counter-Strike 2. Valve demonstrates a serious approach to solving the problem of cheaters, using advanced technologies to protect the integrity of the game. Players are advised to closely monitor their playstyle to avoid false bans and prepare for the new Premier season with an improved anti-cheat system.
