G2 will debut with a new lineup

With the arrival of the Saudi eSports World Cup, CS has returned to people's attention. After a period of adjustment during the off-season, 15 participating teams will compete in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, from July 17th to 21st, with a total prize pool of up to $1,000,000.

In the first international tournament of the 2024 new season, many intriguing storylines will unfold. All eyes will be on G2, as this will be their debut with a new lineup. Many people will also be interested in the continued growth of teams like TheMongolZ and Sashi.

The current top-ranked team in the world, Spirit, will seek to perform even more consistently than the first half of this year, while teams like Vitality, MOUZ, and FaZe hope to continue their assault on the top spot.

Participating Teams and Tournament Format

This edition of the eSports World Cup has a unique format, different from what we usually see in other CS events. The tournament will be divided into three stages: Opening Stage, Last Chance Stage, and Playoffs.

Among the 15 participating teams, 14 will compete in a BO3 match during the opening ceremony stage. The winners will directly advance to the playoffs, while the losers will drop to the last chance stage and compete with the JiJieHao team for the remaining playoff spot.

In the last chance stage, eight teams will compete in a BO1 single elimination match, with the winner earning the only remaining playoff spot. The playoffs will return to a BO3 single elimination format to determine the ultimate champion.
