n0rb3r7: We're getting ready to fly to Miami to catch an NBA game
Virtus.pro aims for success at this ECL event in Atlanta. For some players on the team, it's their first time competing in the United States. Virtus.pro has already secured two BO1 victories (against M80 and Monte), smoothly advancing to the playoffs.
During the event, David Danielyan (n0rb3r7) was interviewed by foreign media. He discussed the team's trip to the United States, the competitive relationship between Virtus.pro and Spirit, and Dzhami Ali's (Jame) adaptation to the new CS version.
Q: Do you consider Spirit your main competitor so far? How would you rank them?
A: I believe our core players have more experience and have participated in more top-tier events, so I think we're stronger than Spirit.
Q: Spirit might be bringing in Dmitry Sokolov (sh1ro) to reinforce their lineup. Jame is your primary AWPer. He's a very structured player. Do you think his playstyle will still be effective in top-tier events?
A: Jame's playstyle and our team's style haven't changed. I think it's quite difficult for him to handle both in-game leading and AWPing at the same time, so I believe he's doing great, and I hope he continues this way.
Q: For a team aiming to re-establish its world ranking, is it crucial to defeat Complexity?
A: We don't consider who we should beat, whether it's Complexity or Monte, it's not important for us. We just want to win the championship trophy, secure a spot in EPL. If we can win ECL in Atlanta, it will give us more confidence for upcoming matches.
Q: This is your first time in the USA. If you have any downtime, are there any American experiences you'd like to try?
A: Dastan Akbayev (dastan) has been scouting around Atlanta for some fun spots, and we're considering flying to Miami to catch an NBA game.
