aliStair returns to FlyQuest as AWPer and in-game leader

FlyQuest have brought aliStair " aliStair " Johnston back into the lineup, with the Australian veteran returning as both the team's AWPer and in-game leader.

The move reunites aliStair with the organization after he was benched in late 2024 and departed the following year.

aliStair returns after nearly two years away

Following his original departure from FlyQuest, aliStair represented SemperFi before later joining THUNDER dOWNUNDER.

He reached the opening stage of the IEM Cologne Major with the latter lineup, where his tournament run was ironically ended by his future FlyQuest teammates.

FlyQuest cycled through several AWPers after aliStair 's first departure.

Romanian AWPer regali averaged a 1.11 rating during his year with the team, while story posted a 1.10 rating during the first half of 2026 before returning to Portugal to join SAW .

aliStair averaged 1.02 during his previous FlyQuest tenure.

aliStair takes over leadership

His return brings an important structural change.

aliStair will take over in-game leadership from Joshua "INS" Potter while also handling the AWP.

That allows INS to return to a more conventional rifling role after taking over calling duties in 2025.

aliStair explained that the roster already has experienced players who understand the game and that his primary task will be helping the team reach a more consistent level together.

FlyQuest open with victory

The revamped FlyQuest lineup immediately debuted in the IEM Beijing 2026 Asia Closed Qualifier.

They defeated NEXVOID 2:0 in aliStair 's first series back with the organization.

FlyQuest's lineup now consists of jks , aliStair , INS, vexite and nettik , with azr serving as coach.
