FURIA Esports eliminate G2 and advance to the Esports World Cup 2026 semifinals

FURIA Esports defeated G2 2:1 ( Ancient 13:3, Anubis 3:13, Dust2 13:6) in the Esports World Cup 2026 quarterfinals. With the victory, FURIA Esports advanced to the semifinals and eliminated G2 Esports .

Danil “molodoy” Golubenko was named the best player of the match after recording 47 kills and 21 deaths across the series. His average adr was 92, the second-highest on the server behind only Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis. 

The victory over Astralis was G2 Esports ’ only win in the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs. Following the loss to FURIA Esports , the team exits the tournament in 5th–8th place, taking home $60,000 in prize money. FURIA Esports , meanwhile, have guaranteed themselves at least a fourth-place finish and will face the winner of FUT vs. Mouz for a place in the grand final.

The Counter-Strike 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 runs from August 12 to 23. Thirty-two teams are competing for a total prize pool of $2 million.
