After their triumph at the IEM Cologne Major, Falcons had a rocky start to the new season, unexpectedly losing to 100 Thieves in the first round of the BLAST Bounty. However, at the Esports World Cup, the team quickly rebounded and advanced to the playoffs with four consecutive map wins.

In an interview with HLTV, Rene " TeSeS " Madsen discussed the disappointing start to the season, the importance of the EWC for Falcons , and the team's motivation following their Major victory.

Loss to 100 Thieves Was a "Wake-Up Call"

Falcons failed to even reach the LAN finals of the BLAST Bounty after an unexpected loss to 100 Thieves . According to TeSeS , this result made the team take their preparation more seriously.

It was a tough match that we lost, and it was very frustrating. But it made us work much harder to come back. Maybe we needed this wake-up call to get back on track.

After a long break, the team also didn’t manage to prepare adequately for the first match.

Everyone was celebrating during the holidays, and when we started practicing, we weren't warmed up. I think that's why we didn't play very well.

At the EWC, Falcons looked much more confident. The team defeated K27 and Astralis to advance to the playoffs.

Falcons Want More Than Just One Major

Winning the IEM Cologne was the team's main goal, but TeSeS assures that Falcons ' motivation didn't end with the trophy.

EWC Holds Special Significance for Falcons

TeSeS acknowledges that for players, the Major remains a much more important tournament, but the EWC also carries great weight due to the competition's status and its importance to the organization.

As players, we see the Major as much more important. But we know how important this tournament is for Falcons , and we want to do everything possible to earn the organization as many points as possible.
