ESL Updates Map Pool With Cache Replacing Overpass
ESL has officially updated the map pool for all ESL Pro Tour competitions, replacing Overpass with Cache following Valve’s latest Active Duty changes.
The new map pool is now in effect and will be used across upcoming ESL tournaments.
Cache will first appear in an ESL-sanctioned event at ESL Challenger League Season 52 Europe Cup #1, which is scheduled for July 12 to 14.
At the Tier-1 level, the map is expected to debut earlier, with Cache set to be played at the XSE Pro League on July 1.
BLAST had also previously confirmed its own move to the updated map pool, adding Cache to most of its tournaments. The only exception was a North American qualifier that took place shortly after Valve’s announcement.
With both major tournament operators making the change, the new Counter-Strike season will move forward with Cache officially replacing Overpass in the active competitive map pool.
