The new Trade Up Contract update has completely collapsed the CS2 skin market

Yesterday, Valve released a 1.3 GB patch for CS2 , which brought optimization improvements on various maps and gameplay changes.

But the main innovation was the Trade Up Contract update, which now allows players to get a rare knife or gloves for almost nothing, which completely collapsed the skin market in CS2 .

Trade Up Contract update

After yesterday's patch, the Trade Up Contract received new functionality. Players can now exchange 5 StatTrak™ Covert skins for one knife skin from the StatTrak™ collection. They can also exchange 5 regular Covert items for a knife or gloves from these collections.

However, as a result, the knife market in CS2 has completely collapsed. The cost of regular Covert weapons has skyrocketed 10-20 times, while the cost of knives has completely collapsed. Some knives and gloves have become 3 times cheaper than their original price. Videos are spreading like wildfire on social media, showing streamers and content creators getting expensive M9 Bayonet and Gut Knife knives worth $3,000 for only $5.

Also, according to insiders and various exchanges, the CS2 skin market has already lost more than 29% of its total price, which recently stood at $6 billion.
