Wo0t leaves Team Heretics after three years and two international finals

Team Heretics has announced the departure of Mert “ Wo0t ” Alkan, ending a three-year spell that included two international runner-up finishes, an Esports World Cup championship and an EMEA title.

The organization has not announced his replacement.

Wo0t joined in October 2023 from Fire Flux as part of Heretics’ rebuild around a younger roster.

A breakthrough season in 2024

After becoming eligible to compete during the 2024 season, Wo0t quickly established himself internationally.

He helped Heretics reach the finals of Masters Shanghai and VALORANT Champions 2024, with the team losing both deciding series 2–3.

His Shanghai performance was particularly notable. Playing as the team’s primary duelist, Wo0t finished with 427 kills, the highest total at the tournament, while placing second in ACS and kill-to-death ratio.

He subsequently returned to a more flexible role when MiniBoo resumed playing.

Titles followed before a difficult finish

Wo0t helped Heretics win the 2025 Esports World Cup and VCT EMEA Stage 1 in 2026.

The team could not sustain that success through the remainder of the latest season. Heretics exited Masters London after two defeats and finished 11th–12th at EMEA Stage 2, missing Champions.

His departure follows those of Boo and koshmaras , leaving benjyfishy and RieNs from the previous active lineup.

Wo0t ’s next destination remains unannounced.
