LOUD 's Darker calls Champions run a dream after upper-semifinal victory
LOUD player Sebastián "Darker" Castro Cicuamia has described his team's run at VALORANT Champions 2026 as the fulfillment of a personal dream after defeating NRG 2–1 in the upper-bracket semifinal.
Speaking during an on-stage interview, Darker discussed LOUD 's approach to facing a familiar regional opponent, changes to the team's Haven composition and the significance of competing on the international stage.
LOUD focus on their own preparation
Darker explained that LOUD did not place special emphasis on the identity of their opponents despite facing another Americas representative.
Instead, the team concentrated on executing its own game plan and trusting its players to deliver when needed.
Haven composition adjusted
Darker also revealed that LOUD changed their Haven composition partly because he was uncomfortable playing Phoenix.
Rather than force a setup that did not suit the player, the team adjusted its composition before the match.
He credited the roster's flexibility for allowing LOUD to make the change with confidence.
International competition fulfills childhood ambition
Darker reflected on growing up watching international esports competitions, including League of Legends.
He recalled seeing Faker compete on major stages and hoping to one day experience something similar.
Reaching the Champions upper-bracket final represents another step toward that ambition.
LOUD will next compete at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, where a victory would send the team into the grand final.
