Paper Rex look to rediscover killer instinct ahead of VALORANT Champions 2026

Paper Rex are focused on rediscovering the confidence and aggression that defined their strongest performances as they prepare for VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai.

Speaking during the pre-event press conference, Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto said the team wants to regain its "killer instinct" heading into the season-ending world championship.

The Pacific side enters Shanghai as one of the established international contenders but is looking to restore consistency on the biggest stage.

G2 prepared early for Shanghai

Andre "BABYBAY" Francisty also discussed the uncertainty surrounding G2 Esports ahead of the 2027 offseason.

"For some of us, it does feel like it's the last ride," BABYBAY said.

Rather than allowing that uncertainty to become a distraction, he believes it has brought the group closer together and added motivation ahead of the world championship.

BABYBAY also revealed that G2 began adjusting their sleep schedule before traveling to China due to the roughly 16-hour time difference.

The team arrived early in Shanghai to further adapt ahead of its opening Group C match against TYLOO .

Team Liquid focus on attack

Team Liquid 's nAts said the team's attacking sides were a major focus following VCT EMEA Stage 2.

Liquid also enters Champions after a roster change, with GSR replacing purp0.

nAts explained that the decision came from the coaching staff and surprised the players, leaving the team focused on helping GSR settle into the lineup as quickly as possible.

TYLOO 's SiuFatBB also discussed his responsibility in helping the team's less experienced players manage the pressure of competing on the biggest stage.

VALORANT Champions 2026 begins on September 24 in Shanghai and runs through October 18, with 16 teams competing for a $2.25 million prize pool.
