XLG Esports defeated FunPlus Phoenix in a best-of-three match during the group stage of VCT 2025: China Stage 2 with a 2:0 scoreline (Haven 13:8, Sunset 14:12). This marks the team’s third win in the Omega group.

The victory guaranteed XLG Esports a playoff berth at VCT 2025: China Stage 2 with at least a fourth-place finish. Holding a 3:0 record in the group, they are now in a strong position to secure first place, which would allow them to start the second phase directly from the upper bracket semifinals. VCT 2025: China Stage 2 runs from July 3 to August 31. Twelve partner teams from the Chinese region are competing for two direct slots at Champions 2025 and valuable CN points, which will determine two additional teams to qualify for the world championship.
