2Game Esports part ways with IGL Zap mid-season

Brazilian organization 2Game Esports has parted ways with Brenno "zap" Roberto, who served as the team’s in-game leader, due to an internal conflict between the player and management. Both the club and zap confirmed the news via their official social media accounts on X.

The conflict began several days prior to the announcement. According to Nyang, an analyst for the Brazilian VCT broadcast, zap abruptly left a scrim in an emotional outburst and expressed a desire to leave the team. Although he later regretted his decision and asked to return, management decided not to give him a second chance.

Here’s what happened without any sugarcoating: yesterday zap tilted during a scrim, left the session, and said he no longer wanted to be part of the team. Today he woke up, regretted it, and asked to come back. Management declined, saying he had to fully face the consequences of his decision.

Zap acknowledged his mistake and said he was willing to take responsibility, although he disagreed with some of the management’s statements. Despite his desire to continue with the team, he was fully removed from practices and matches. He is currently based in the U.S., but plans to return to Brazil in the coming weeks.

I was ready to train and play as hard as I could, but from what I was told, that won’t be happening. I’ll return to Brazil in the coming weeks. The decision was made quickly and caught me off guard after all my time with the team. While I don’t fully agree with it, I repeat — the mistake was mine, and I must take responsibility.

The organization officially confirmed zap’s departure, citing the internal conflict and ongoing disagreements. They also thanked him for his contributions to the team’s presence in the Valorant Champions Tour.

The next match of 2Game Esports is scheduled for March 30, where the team will meet another Brazilian club, LOUD , as part of the group stage of VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1. The team is already struggling with form, and zap’s sudden departure has added further uncertainty. Whether management can stabilize the situation remains to be seen.
